Legal packaging declaration
Packaging collection systems
To achieve the recovery and recycling quotes imposed by law, Valorlux supports and organises several collection systems:
-
Door-to-door collection using the blue bag or the green bag
-
The Re-box
-
Financial support for organisations providing their own selective sorting and collection system
-
Centralized management through recycling parks
Legal responsibilities
Every person responsible for packaging must:
- Register with the Environmental Administration in the register of persons responsible for packaging
- Achieve recycling rates imposed by grand-ducal regulation for the material components of their packaging
- Forward detailed information to the Environmental Administration regarding the characteristics of their packaging, the quantities placed on the Luxembourg market and the quantities of recycled/recovered packaging
- Inform users of packaging, including consumers, on the one hand about the possibilities of preventing packaging waste and, on the other hand, about the return, collection and recovery systems placed at their disposal
By joining Valorlux, you are transferring your obligations to an approved organisation.

The declaration

The “Green Dot” – Icon for your membership
Companies who are members of Valorlux may use the logo “Green Dot” on their packaging distributed in the Grand Duchy.
The Green Dot tariff
The Green Dot tariff is a price per packaging material expressed in Euros per kg (excl. VAT). The Green Dot contribution reflects, among other things, the economic cost of the activities of selective collection, sorting and recovery of packaging waste. Tariffs are reviewed annually taking into account changes in regards to placing on the market and packaging collection and sorting costs.
