A company’s membership is effective from the moment VALORLUX received the duly signed membership agreement and the first declaration of products placed on the Luxembourg market.

The steps to be taken:

1. Contact the Marketing department of VALORLUX and ask for two copies of the membership agreement as well as a company identification sheet;
2. Return by regular mail both copies of the membership agreement as well as the identification sheet duly filled out and signed to VALORLUX;
3. Fill out the first declaration of packaging placed on the Luxembourg market.

Any company wishing to adhere to VALORLUX tables its request either per email sent to service [dot] marketing [at] valorlux [dot] lu, or by fax to +352 37 11 37 or even by regular mail to VALORLUX a.s.b.l. BP 26 in L-3205 Leudelange.

The Membership Agreement

The membership agreement to VALORLUX deals with all household and similar packaging. Becoming a member of VALORLUX must be total, i.e. it must cover all packages you place on the market.
The agreement is signed for an unlimited duration.
Affiliation to VALORLUX is retroactive to 01/01/1999, date of the coming into force of the grand-ducal Regulation or to the date of the first products of this type being placed on the market. Moreover, any new member must pay a registration fee, which amounts to one fourth of its yearly financing contribution. This is meant as a gesture of solidarity towards those proactive members who decided to join VALORLUX before the coming into force of the grand-ducal Regulation. Without their financial support, nothing would have been ready on time.

As soon as you sign the agreement, you shall be receiving additional information and/or the VALBASE software, which will help you fill out your first declaration of products placed on the market using an IT method.

The Declaration

As of the signing of the agreement, the new member has 30 days to fill out his first declaration of products placed on the market.

In order to define the packaging to be declared, the new member has to proceed as follows:

• Exclude non-household packaging as they are not part of the VALORLUX system;
• Exclude Luxembourg supplier from his declaration as they are Parties Responsible for Packaging before he is;
• Exclude members of VALORLUX from his list of suppliers for whom he must make a declaration;
• He may also ask the remaining foreign suppliers to adhere to VALORLUX in his place.

At the end of each year, the member will have to send in a final declaration of packaging placed on the market at the latest for the 28/02 of the following year.
